BATES, Rae
Rae Bates completed a B.A. in Fine Art and Comparative Literature at McMaster University in 1999. She continued her art training at the Dundas Valley School of Art, and at the International School of Art in Montecastello, Italy, where she studied with the American artist Lennart Anderson. In 2005, she will receive her Master's degree from McGill University. Ms. Bates has received numerous art and academic awards, including the McMaster Humanities Medal for Special Achievement in 1999. In 2003, she was awarded a grant from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation. Rae has exhibited in the Hamilton area, and has works both in public and private collections. Currently, she is a faculty member at the Dundas Valley School of Art.
