Earls Court Gallery is excited announce “The Sights” exhibition featuring new paintings by Burlington artist Donna Fratesi, Cambridge artist Jessica Marie Penney, and Collingwood artist Jon Houghton.


“The Sights” exhibit showcases three painters’ artistic expressions with regards to looking forward to summer road trips, activities and the sights seen along the way. Though not limited to this, the selected artists also examine architecture, forgotten paths, major transportation routes or quiet alley ways that are witnessed from the roadside.

“The Sights” exhibition can be viewed in person at 215 Ottawa Street North, Hamilton, ON. Earls Court Gallery is open Tuesday – Friday 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm. The artworks will be featured in the main gallery. All artworks will be featured online starting June 13, 2024 with virtual tour to follow.

Join us for the opening reception and meet the artists Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 7 pm until 9 pm. No reservations required. All are welcome.

Meet the Artists

Donna Fratesi

Donna was born and raised in Hamilton but has lived in Burlington for many years. Basically self-taught she studied with various well known Canadian and American artists. Donna organized and ran Famous Artists Workshops in Bonita Springs Florida giving her the opportunity to work with Tony van Hasselt, Charles Reid, Burton Silverman among others. She was included in the coffee table book “Artists in Their Studios – Naples, Florida” and in 2008 was made an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour. One of her paintings was chosen by the Ontario Government for their archives at Queens Park. Her paintings are held in private and public collections in Canada, United States and the United Kingdom. Donna is represented by Earls Court Gallery, Hamilton, Ont. and The Art Gallery of Burlington.

Jessica Marie Penney

Jessica Marie Penney is a Canadian figurative Artist. She studied at Ontario College of Art and Design, as well as L’École des Beaux Arts de St. Etienne, in France. Formerly an Art Director in various Advertising agencies, she decided to return to her primary passion of fine arts in 2017. Jessica lives and works in Cambridge, Ontario with her husband Stephen, and their two very active boys. She enjoys travelling within Canada, having resided in the majority of the Canadian provinces throughout the years.

Jon Houghton

Jon grew up in Thornbury, Ontario. After graduating from Lakefield College School in 2003, he studied Fine Arts at Mount Allison University, majoring in Painting and Drawing. After three years at Mount Allison, Jon moved to Greece where he studied Classical painting at the Aegean Center for Fine Arts. He returned to Canada in 2008 to round out his education with a year at Ontario College of Art and Design. Jon has since returned to the Southern Georgian Bay area to open a studio/gallery in downtown Collingwood. Since 2016 Jon has been a member of the painting group Untamed Things. Originally formed as a tribute to Tom Thomson on the anniversary of his death, it has continued as group of friends who a share a love of exploration and painting, with yearly trips and exhibitions. Jon’s paintings can be recognized by the use of bright colours and a clean graphic style. He works with oil on canvas and his subject matter consists of scenes ranging across Canada, with a focus on Georgian Bay, The Niagara Escarpment, and Toronto.
