Artist Statement

My mixed-media paintings weave together surrealism, symbolism, and intuitive storytelling. Originally trained as an oil painter, I began incorporating collage into my work and discovered a new visual language—one that reflects the fragmented nature of existence and the accumulation of experiences, memories, and influences that shape who we are. My figures carry traces of photographs, flowers, birds, and text, layering personal and collective memory through elements of my earlier paintings, my own photographs, and images from my family archives. Gold and silver leaf evoke the luminous glow of light through cathedral windows, bringing a sense of shimmer and transcendence to the work. Through elongated hats, collaged hair, birds, and other recurring motifs, my figures become vessels for exploring memory, inheritance, and the hidden, intuitive layers of the self.
