Further Notes:
A packing doll is a traditional Inuit child’s doll that represents a woman carrying a baby in the hood of her parka, known as an amauti. These dolls were made from materials such as cloth, skin, or fur and were used as toys that helped children learn caregiving roles and everyday Inuit life. Packing dolls often include detailed clothing and facial features, reflecting regional dress and family practices. Today, they are also recognized as important cultural objects and works of Inuit material culture.
